My favorite videos are "THE FIRM" workouts with leotard and high powered heavy weight TIGHTS under neath. The person who put the mirror in back of the women is a GENIOUS!

Nice post Tronsgirl!!I spent approximately 25 hours in Las Vegas,45 hours in Los Angeles,75 hours in New York City, and 140 hours in Amsterdam searching for this movie and finally found it at home in England.It is a movie where the female and male performers are both wearing full bodysuits.It is a Shinyvideos.com production but I do not think they have released it yet.

I have some boxing DVD - she's wearing spandex shorts and the top ring is one of several female boxer. Martin Christie in her round, she was actually wearing a unitard (short length)!

It has more safety, better user control and a nice design. Very good!
The old board was going nuts with all that spam and crap being posted lately.

Now we can take a deeeeeeep breath and have a fresh new start :D

The BBW topic again, hmm. Well, the site is still the same site, its just a new message board. But I figure we can give it a try. There are many degrees of BBW though. There is generally thick, big overall build, to just plain big. The subject is often met with mixed reactions based on what degree we are talking about.

Once we get the member base larger Ill run a poll again on the subject and we will see how it goes. For now hold off on posting for about a week, then mark your posts with the prefix "BBW:" and we will test the waters.

Kilatron,

I think you'll be cutting off your nose to spite your face.

The majority of pictures of spandex clad women come from websites or other media. If you are exlcuding these posts then your forum isn't going to look very busy!

You may get a few candid pics & a few stolen images with watermarks deleted or edited, but this forum will be a lot worse.

I have been on TPOWIS for the last 5 or so years, and this is a very sharp turn in direction.

If my input isn't wanted then I will stick to shinyuploads, A Love of Spandex & Shinybods where content is appreciated.

I understand TPOWIS is your baby & you have the right to include/exclude what you feel is right

Doesn`t sound very positive. "The BBW topic again", "mixed reaction" having to mark my posts and "test the waters". You make it sound like anyone beyond a certain weight should be under constant scrutiny. I offer you pics out of a desire to show others and I feel that I have to make an explanation to placate people who don`t like a fuller figured woman `cause it may offend them. I may be offended by very thin girls but how can I say that in all honesty here.She isn`huge if that`s what offends "certain people"; just a bit larger. The other MB`s I am a member of have no problem with this and I am a mod on one of them.
I don`t feel welcome here and will not post pics so for any of your members who do like a fuller figured woman in spandex I appologise.

First of all thanks for redoing the site would have been easy to let it die. On the rules I have to agree with shinywear in that I think they are too rigid. If a webmaster wants to advertise their site why not as long as they leave a few samples, at the moment they'll be very little we can post as most pics/vids are copyrighted. As for the BBW stuff, why not setup a BBW section in the forum & then people who wanna see big asses can & those that aren't interested don't have to. If setup that way & anyone feels the need to criticise certain images then ban them, they can have no excuse if posted in the correct section of the forum.

I think the Rulez as stated are for various reasons. Killatron, Tonsgirl, and I (Spider-Man) are getting this Site geared up for alot of future updates. Shinywear you can post pics as you like but we are asking that no advertising of your products be included in the post. If you want to Advertise on this site please PM myself or Killatron and we can set something up for you. Vorn29, no one said you can't post them. Killatron is asking you just to hold of for a week, post them and he will do a poll. if the poll goes well then maybe we have a BBW section. its all about the fan base and what they want. ...I'm sorry for my bad english but I come from Europe...

I think that this board is about Spandex,Lycra, ... so I don't understand the BBW problem.
If is a BBW or a skinny or a fit woman (or man) should not be a problem...till the pictures/videos/discussions will be spandex related. this is my opinion and don't want to force moderators but I think bbw can just enrich this board.

Thats a good question. I think the rule was altered from something else at one point or another either by myself or a mod. It's one of the early rules, I will adjust the wording.

Just wondering: Can someone do something about posts that attract viruses and the like? There are frequent posters whose images no longer open because they appear to be attacted to spyware and viruses.

I've had to take my desktop/laptop to the systems manager at work on at least four occasions for that reason.
You're damned right I'd rather see women wear tights! Does anyone have a problem with that?

@Savethespandex, wish there was an easy fix for that. But it will involve manually going through each post to clean them out. SHL does a great job at handling a lot of that. But it's why I gotta find a solution that works perfectly for this site.

Men's Avatar rule concepts:

The photo may only be of yourself. No male athlete or other figure.
The photo must be a head shot, head to waist, or a photo showing at least 90% of your body.

Up for consideration, a ban on avatars of men in women's spandex. Other concepts to consider, earning the right to use an avatar. Have at least 1 thank, or XX number of posts.

Public Sightings of Women in Spandex

I had this thread going on the old message board; thought I'd start it again.

Basically, this is the thread to log recent sightings (and past sightings) of women you've seen in spandex, and to describe what they were wearing, what color, what type of spandex (capris, leggings, unitard, shorts, etc.), whether it was shiny or not, what kind of blend (nylon, cotton, polyester, etc.), what activity they were doing (jogging, shopping, walking, working, etc.), where you saw them, etc.

I was meaning to make this thread a couple weeks ago, after I saw a woman at Whole Foods wearing black leggings that stood out in my mind. The reason why, is because it was the first time I'd ever seen a woman wearing "wet-look" leggings. Most women wear the dull cotton or polyester spandex, and some wear the shiny nylon blend. This was more of a metallic/shiny/wet looking spandex. Looked almost like latex. She wore it under a dress (white/black/pink/blue). If I were to take a guess, I'd say her spandex was from the company American Apparel. They looked just like these:

Yesterday I saw a black woman in leggings. They were interesting because the color is hard to describe. They were like a brownish-grey with an avacado tint. They had like a "suede" texture to them.

I also like women in spandex that are "dirty". Either sweaty from working out, or from actual dirty. At the supermarket a couple weeks ago, I saw a black woman, in American Apparel leggings, but these were the cotton kind with buttons at the bottom. I noticed her because her tights had what looked like dried mud that had splashed up on the back of her right thigh. She also had dirt on her right buttock. Her leggings looked like these:

She also had very rounded buttocks in her leggings, and wasn't shy about letting the world them (no long shirt or skirt covering them).

I made this thread in hopes that people post all of their spandex sightings here.

Anyway, last Wednesday this darkskinned Asian chick (looked Southeast Asian, or she may be Polynesian) was working out at my gym in black capri tights and a short gray jacket.

Anyway, she got on the treadmill in front of me while I was on the bike. So I had a perfect view of her ass, and could make out the type of panties she had on (regular brief-style). After about 15 minutes of her walking on the treadmill, she got up and left and went to the ladies locker room. I thought "wow, she usually works out longer than that". About 10 minutes later, she came back, and got back on the treadmill, one over from the one she was working on. I noticed her panties on her rear were on a little differently -- as if they were adjusted and pulled up tighter, with a more narrow "V" shape as opposed to the previous wider "V" shape. So I figured she left to go urinate! Me "figuring" this out made me feel a little naughty in a good way because I discovered what she had done despite her being shrouded in secrecy behind the door of the women's locker room.

I see her coming there from time to time. So far I've seen her in long light-gray leggings, black capri tights, black spandex shorts, and navy-blue long leggings. I've seen her wear a pair of regular loose-fit non-spandex shorts.

GREY LEGGINS (not spandex, but cotton. still tight as hell though)

I teach guitar part time at a music school here in australia. As i was waiting for the next student to arrive, i saw a woman who was sitting outside the room she was learning saxophone in. I've seen her around before, but never dressed like this! to my utter surprise she was in the tightest dark grey leggins youve ever seen and a tshirt that wasnt long enough to cover her ass. She then stood up... about to walk into her lesson. She has a slightly curvy body.. really really hot though. I'd only ever saw her in jeans and stuff before. I caught a nice glimpse of her ass... judging by the amount of butt-crack and smoothness to the buttocks themselves, im pretty sure she either had nothing on underneath, or a gstring. I am going to look in the teacher records for who she is.. and do some research. If she turns out to have a myspace or something I will let you all know incase she has some pics or something like that... who knows. Otherwise, in the meantime, i am making an effort to get to know this lady. ;-)

So last night I was at Whole Foods... saw a Mexican (or other Hispanic) girl shopping in the aisle wearing shiny navy blue leggings as pants. She was in her late teens to early 20's, brown-skinned, black shoulder-length hair, and around 5'4". No long shirt or anything covering it. Just a short grey top that exposed her belly/midsection. And she wore the leggings so low that her buttcrack was poking out the top. I glanced down the top of her leggings a few times, staring at her buttcrack, and it appeared she didn't have on any underwear, but that's not first certain... maybe her underwear was low too. Anyway, it was a great site seeing a girl wearing spandex with her dark, dirty buttcrack exposed.

I'm seeing a lot more of the wet-look around the city. It's still a bit different then what you generally see and I'm not sure it's making its way into mainstream fashion just yet....but people like Fergie and other popular people on the cutting edge are helping promote the look.

I saw a gal in a sushi restaurant wearing some black liquid leggings and I even found the opportunity to tell her I like them. She was flattered and I think her friend was jealous of the attention she got.

My wife, earlier, saw her walk by and raised her eyebrow as if to suggest it's just wrong or ugly. I can't get my wife to wear leggings, she insists it just doesn't work for her. She's not in bad shape or anything, just doesn't like the look (she dresses like a fumpy lesbian librarian...no sense of sexuality or liking to dress nice). Great mother to the kids and cute on occassion, but just no push towards wanting to look sexy.

In NYC, liquid leggings are definitely mainstream. Summertime isn't good for it - it tends to be a bit hot to wear since the material doesn't breathe as well as traditional cotton or nylon leggings, and even then, summertime is for bare skin.

As the weather cools down here, I've seen more of the liquid variety from AA and others. When it's cool enough, you'll find college girls wearing them all day, usually with t-shirts or tunics. Towards the evening, you'll find women of all ages wearing them, usually with more elaborate tops that come down to the mid-thigh. The leggings are incredibly versatile, you can dial them down to ultra casual or up to high-fashion. If your wife (wives for the rest of you,) or girlfriend(s) are interested, there are usually a ton of fashion groups on Flickr that have "regular folks" wearing these leggings with all manner of outfits. One such group is "http://www.flickr.com/groups/wardrobe_remix/" and there are a ton of good ideas for them there.

As far as more dramatic spandex, not so much. AA sells a variety of really exciting shiny tops, but I never see them. If you walk around the Upper West Side near the dance studios, you'll occasionally see women in leotards with sweatpants, but that's not all that exciting. Central Park and the waterfronts are always packed with women in various running tights, which vary in interesting-ness.

What's mainstream in NYC can take awhile to trickle down to the suburbs, but this is the second season where liquid metal tights were available, and last year, even Target sold a cheap pair each of gold, silver, and black liquid look leggings. I don't want to see the kiddies wearing them around when they go to the mall, but I'd expect to see college campuses and night clubs full of them.

I'd have to agree with healthyfetish - wetlook & shiny spandex leggings are definitely mainstream now. Still not as popular as the cotton-spandex leggings though.

Especially in NYC. I was in NYC a year & a half ago, and that city has GOT to be the LEGGINGS MECCA. Leggings all over the place.

I live in LA, and while it's common to see leggings, they aren't as plentiful as they are in NYC.

Shiny & wetlook leggings started being worn in late 2007, but really became "mainstream" in 2008 & 2009.

Leggings as a whole started in 2005 and became mainstream by 2006. So glad spandex made a comeback.

And for the record, cotton leggings are still spandex. They have spandex blend (the material that makes it stretchy). Shiny leggings are usually of a nylon-spandex blend. They're both still spandex.

I live in NYC. Last week saw mostly cotton leggings. Today was a special treat, while getting my haircut, two girls were there getting styled while wearing black wetlook leggings - I expect they had evening plans.

The frequency of the wetlook style was significant in 2008-2009. It tailed off during the summer, probably because of the heat. Fall was healthy, but winter killed it. I'm hoping we're not at the end of a trend, since they're mostly black, I expect they could theoretically become "staples" for some wardrobes.

I mostly see cotton leggings, but there's a lot of cyclists here. On occasion, I'll see women wearing spandex while biking (it mostly seems to be guys in cycling outfits, but on occasion I'll get lucky and see a woman in one).

Back in the 90's, I visited my local highschool gymnasium to reunite with a couple of old friends and teachers. I came there a few hours early and the boy's and girl's indoor soccer teams just finished practice. As soon as they left the building, the boy's and girl's basketball teams took over the gym. Each team was allowed a practice session of 45 minutes at their own half of the court, just like in indoor soccer practice. When the session was over, the girls asked for an extra 45 minutes of free play to themselves, to which the head of sports education agreed. Their coach then told them that they could relax a little and not have to wear the official training kits, since practice was officially over. At this moment I left the gym since I wasn't allowed to be there at these hours (visitor rules, I suppose).

Anyway, almost an hour goes by and I decide to return to the gym, hoping to see if any of my old friends and teachers showed up. I enter the gym and there still wasn't a sign of anyone I knew but the girl's basketball team was still present. I was shell shocked by their sight. The women were no longer wearing any official training or match uniforms. Instead, they were running around the court in sleeveless unitards. They were split in two teams; one wore a blue unitard and the other wore yellow. The ones in blue had long yellow socks pulled up almost to knee-height, vice versa. You could literally smell the lycra as you entered the sports hall.

THAT'S how it should be done. :o

By the way, this team was so good it went on to win the district and national championships. And no, that wasn't in the US. :mrgreen:

I still haven't figured out where they got those unitards from. My friend suggested they were part of the highschool ballet club.

Lots and lots of cotton and silky looking spandex leggings!!!! its college night at the local laser tag place and this evening was loaded with leggings clad girls ooooo so hot all the colors, blacks, shiny and flat, greys, blues, greens, yellows, whites with some vpls mmm

I live in London, and in the last couple of years, but particularly the last 18 months, the growth of shiny and wet-look lycra leggings has really taken off. I know this has come from the US, as we've been 'invaded by American Apparel' - but most women's clothes shops have been selling them, and the ladies have been wearing them. So in general, there's been a lot more spandex around. Which is great. There was a while back there when it seemed the only place you'd find it was on cyclists or swimsuits.
One specific sighting I had recently. I'd popped into a cafe in central London to grab a take out coffee, and sat around a table were four people, two of whom were women in black nylon lycra catsuits. The other two were a photographer and some sort of director/producer. They had some sort of costumes with them, I think the catsuits were a kind of base layer, over which they'd worn these costumes. But this didn't really matter to me, two women in daylight in lycra catsuits! I think they'd been doing some promotional advertising photo shoot at nearby landmarkThey were nylon/lycra, zipped up to the neck. I had to hang around for a few minutes to check them out. Nobody else seemed to care, the place had a lot of tourists in it who I think were more bothered about ordering and getting out, but all I could do was grab glances of these women and try not to look too obvious. Looking at the curves of their bodies and the sheen of the fabric on them - it was a feeling, I imagine, like a rush the drug user might get. I could feel my heart beat banging in my chest. It was like a dream coming true. You fantasise about these moments and when you least expect it. Boom! That put a spring in my step for the rest of the week!
So, yeah, lots of lycra leggings, which are nice enough, but you can't beat a catsuit imho.

Haven't had many 'up-close' encounters but I see women wearing lycra on a pretty regular basis where I live, mostly of the cotton tights/leggings variety (and usually black) but that's fine with me. Many don't worry about wearing a long top or anything like that to cover up either, which is an extra bonus.

Like I said not too many up close encounters but here's a few of my recent sightings.

A woman coming out of a shop looking hot and sweaty, wearing shiny black, knee length tights. Was probably late 30's to early 40's nice body and not afraid to show it off. Nice change to see shiny tights too, but was in someone else's car so didn't get a long look (sounds pervy eh?).

Two chicks cycling and both wearing royal blue bike shorts. Cycling is pretty popular here, but unfortunately man far outnumber women.

Driving and seeing two women jogging way across the other side of the opposite dual carriage way, one wearing capri tights and a blue top (I think). A rather dangerous situation that is......

Was working the other day at a job I'd just started and another staff member came up asking where something was for a customer (I didn't know either btw) and when I looked at the customer it was an extreeeeeemly attractive woman looking at me with an interesting expression on her face. It seemed like a possible 'she's into me' look which is unusual as when women look at me I almost always take it as a bad look. Anyway she was wearing standard black cotton leggings but looked mighty fine in them, and no long tops to cover up her arse. Alas I saw her a few minutes later with some guy I assumed was her boyfriend/husband.

Anyone else got any recent sightings to report?

I am a long-time lurker, and so far very infrequent poster; I think I am up to all of three posts now, counting this one. But I want to become more active. And I was delighted to see that the "Public Sightings" thread had bumped back to the top. So thank you, Lycraphiliac, for sharing your encounters, close or not, with us.

I too have begun seeing lycra a great deal more frequently of late, and regaled a friend of mine when we met for some beer at a local Hooters on St. Patrick's Day with my admittedly manic impression that 2010 is going to be "The Year of Spandex". Okay, so I was slightly giddy in that proclamation, but I hope I prove correct. I base that on the fact that virtually EVERY woman I saw at Mardi Gras in New Orleans was wearing at least cotton leggings, but just as many had the more shiny type, and at least in that setting there were LOTS of the "wet look" leggings worn with maximum sexiness. There were more than a few wearing just outright spandex outfits, not just leggings, and that was great too. And there was one full-on green Hentai-wearing blonde (I also saw her with her hood down). She was a BABE. And again, at least in that setting, there were some very definite 'up-close' encounters. It was a blast. Very happy I went.

The thing is that while I'm articulate and good at telling a story, I'm a photography hobbyist too and I very definitely think in terms of that notion that a picture is worth a thousand words. I've taken hundreds if not thousands of photos of women wearing spandex for one reason or another over the past few years. I've posted some on another board, which admittedly wasn't oriented around spandex, but mainly I've kept them to myself.

What I'd really like to be able to do would be to post a story and some accompanying pictures. I had one set edited and ready to go (albeit from an older event; I'd have to eventually do a lot of posts to cover Mardi Gras and it will be a huge amount of culling and editing work) when I discovered I must not have direct attachment rights here. That's understandable, I suppose, since that probably has to be earned and I have only posted two comments before. But I was wondering if I'm just overlooking something? Or do I have to settle for one of those hosting sites like ImageVenue? I've always found those cumbersome to bother with when I've posted on other boards. They all eventually barrage visitors with junk. Out of all of them I personally hate ImageBam the most: I use Firefox under OS X, have pop-up's blocked, and use Greasemonkey to keep ill-behaved Javascript under control but I still got "Shea, my personal assistant from Adult Friend Finder" clicking her high-heels noisily across my screen every single time I viewed a hosted image! So irritating and tacky! So I hope there's an easy, straightforward alternative someone can clue me in to.

I hope to be able to contribute here and help keep it a great site, as a prior site I liked a lot (Sport Women Forum, previously hosted on ProBoards) disappeared a few months ago which made me sad. Athletic women in spandex are my favorite!
