LOL I tried the asking part the first time and most of the time the women dont bring spandex with them. They may have thigh highs and heels but dont usually have anything. Plus you will end up paying extra if you ask em about it and mention it as a fetish. Just buy it and bring it and tell them to put it on after she asks you for a LE check.

Er, all the time! Almost all of my escort bookings end up with some lycra fun - wouldn't be the same without it! And I don't leave anything to chance - I supply the outfits. Only one or two girls have refused to go along with it.

Interested in hearing what memories you have of first seeing a woman in spandex and what it made you think. Particularly, was it something that hit you suddenly, or was it like a light coming on in your brain that made you think, "this is for me!"
I was a kid in the 70s, and can remember this was a perfect decade for yoga on TV, with all the women in leotards and tights, obviously. Also the girls at school, particularly the older girls (!) wearing leotards in gym. I knew I liked these things even then, but not sure why.
Key event for me when I was 13, I think, there was an end of year gym show. Boys came out doing their vaulting etc. The girls came out, all wearing their standard black nylon leotards, not very nice. Then suddenly this girl who I had the hots for appeared wearing what looked to be brand new, super shiny nylon lycra bright blue leotard and tights. She looked so fantastic at the time I can remember that jaw dropping feeling - nearly 25 years that seems to be a key event to me.

Nice question.

Well a little bit of personal introduction from me. I was born in 1973, two years before my homeland (Lebanon) got into a bloody civil war, which lasted until 1990. So sadly for me, I didn't see women in my own motherland wearing spandex but I did see them wearing it in other countries. My family migrated to Brazil, where they had relatives there. Believe it or not, the population of Lebanese people in Brazil is larger than in Lebanon itself. :mrgreen:

I remember spandex mostly in the 80s but 90s as well, although in the 90s it was dying down slowly.

In the early 1980s, when I was around 10 years old, I can remember a bit of spandex in Rio de Janeiro. It was a crazy spandex city, by the way. I mean leotards, leggings, jazz pants, unitards, etc. It's really collective, so I can't remember the first incident precisely.

But I do remember the first time I visited the Middle East in the mid-80s. My parents wanted to meet their relatives in several countries in the Middle East. We visited two places. The first place we visited was Cairo but I can't remember anything there. The second place was Kuwait. Of all places, I thought Kuwait was going to be the most conservative, due to being in the heartland of Arabia and more Islamic than Egypt and other 'liberalized' secular Arabic countries. Yet to my amazement, I ended up seeing a lot of unforgettable spandex there. And until this day, it's as though the incident took place last week instead of many decades ago.

I remember it was April 1986 and the weather was kinda cold for April in that part of the world. People were still wearing relatively heavy clothing. Kuwaitis were celebrating in the streets because their national Association Football team (football in short, or soccer as some people call it) won a regional tournament. So people were celebrating in the streets. I was taking a walk along the waterfront and I saw a group of girls, older than me, all wearing colorful spandex and waving the Kuwaiti flag. I was 13 at that time and the girls must have been in their 20s. They were almost 10 of them. Things they wore ranged from leggings to leotards and skirts, jazz pants, etc. Four of them wore identical blue unitards and they didn't cover it up with skirts or anything. Just four blue unitards and white leg warmers pulled to the knee length. And they were waving their flags in pride. Blue is the national color of their sports teams, by the way.

They were definitely local girls because I remember them speaking in Arabic and in their local accents. Cars kept passing them by and spraying foam at them. :lol:

it had to be either olivia newton john in grease or erin gray in buck rodgers. i loved their spandex pants so much i got a pair of my own along with a bodysuit. i've been on a spandex kick every since.

For me it would have to be Erin Gray from Buck Rogers. It was 1979 and it gave this 11 year old boy the greatest joy of his young life. Although i have to say, before that I remember watching reruns of the Batman tv show and seeing Julie Newmar in her lurex(?) catsuit drove me insane as well. :o

One of my first jobs was working in a green grocer/fruit and vegetable shop opposite a huge gymnasium. All day and every day women would leave the gym and buy fruit on their way home wearing their exercise gear, there was none of this getting changed before or after their workout business like now. During this time, I raised some money and went into partnership with a buddy of mine where we made smoothies and freshly squeezed juices inside the gym.

For the next three years between five to nine in the evening I'd make drinks for the gym patrons. It got me through high school and the first two years of university, until the gym closed.

This was in the late 1980s so the workout fashions were incredible, thong leotards as far as the eye could see, women wearing bike tights and biketards so tight you feared for their circulation and my favourite outfit - the thong leotard with flesh coloured tights. Not one single job I've had since has been as fun.

I guess some of us must be of similar age, as I too could not take my eyes of Erin Grey on Buck Rogers. I think she is fantastic example of what happens when a woman with the right curves in her body wears spandex. And Catwoman in the re-runs of Batman too! So great.

The first woman whose spandex wearing probably started my fetish was, well...me.

When I was 13, my older sister took me to her dance-aerobics class and made me wear one of her leotards. It was the first time I can remember wearing anything like that over tights (I'd worn one piece swimsuits by themselves before). It was a thong--a dark floral pattern I think--and I recall feeling very uncomfortable and self-conscious at first. My first memory would be back in elementary school, walking into the auditorium and seeing some gals rehearsing for some play...they wore black on black leotard/tights, it struck me so odd that an outfit could cover the whole body in a skin-tight fashion, I could only imagine what it felt like and how flexible and comfortable it could be. That was a vague recollection.

My most solid would be High School, a gal I knew wore an electric blue unitard and it was so stunning & beautiful that it just blew my mind. Again, I could only imagine what it was like to enter into a tiny outfit that covered your whole body and engulfed you in such magnificient material. Add some super heroines and the gym attire of the 80's and there ya go.

It wasn't until I started cycling that I suddenly made the connection between my wearing spandex and it being similar to women. To this day I still try to wear it as much as possible.

Bayleigh, my first hunch was to suspect yet another guy posing as a gal, but your story seems quite legit. Only thing is, I've never seen a thong leotard worn in a traditional dance class...the thong was pretty much something worn over a leotard or by women in gyms looking for vast attention. Aside from school gym ( 82 - 86 ), we had mixed gym class in the town's rec centre so there were a lot of girls in leotards ( mostly cotton/Lycra blend ).
Swimming class exposed me to seeing girls in swimsuits as well.

Actually at first, I was kind of repelled from what I saw because the girls in those leotards seemed
so fragile, only wearing a thin layer of delicate fabric. Some of the wet swimsuits became kind of see through as well, which made the girls look fragile.

As a kid I played around the house all the time, including the garage. Some time later, appearantly, my mom put some
old leather boots of hers to discard of.

Seeing the leather interested me to get closer and inspect them, but it was actually the inner nylon liner which triggered

Pretty soon I made the connection to understand, leotards and swimsuits were made of similar material to the inner lining of those boots.

As a kid maybe 8 years old it must have been the outdoor pool in the summer. It was actually a black guy who wore a knee length jammer with string like fly done up like women corsets in the back. He was in shape and was only black guy at the pool. Seeing such tight fitting lycra shorts must have triggered something in a not gay way but spandex wearing attire. Also who can forget the tiny bikini and one piece swimwear women wore, nice times.
But tv was intro into seeing the spandex thong era which women were into the aerobics and gyms members.

Or who could forget the ads that came in the mail for women panties ahh ya!

DT, trust but verify I guess lol. I really only express my fetish at home. In public I adhere to the dress code of whatever studio/company I'm dancing at. I do wear thong or g-string panties underneath my tights, which contrary to what some dancers will tell you is okay as long as the underwear isn't visible below the leotard's leg line.
You're right about thong leos being less than acceptable in the mainstream. A lot of places say "any style leotard", but try showing up in one for an audition, and you have to perform that much better to overcome the prejudice that you're compensating for poor technique with exhibitionism.
Btw my first experience was at a freestyle jazz dance-aerobics class held at a gym in the SF Bay area in the early 90s. Thong leos didn't really draw comment unless the wearer was overweight. Your location might be more conservative, though.

I totally get how it's nice to have some panties of underwear on under the spandex....it's good to have a bit of cotton or liner between you and the fabric, but I strongly abide by the rule that Visible panty lines (VPL) is a huge fashion flaw. To me, there's nothing more pathetic then seeing some gal in a stunning unitard and being able to see the outline of her panties under the fabric. With the leo you have some options and you always have to contend with the elastic waistline of the tights as well.

A few things you didn't comment on. What are your thoughts about guys wearing spandex? And please feel free to elaborate.

Also, your own fetish...how so is that manifested? You say you indulge in the privacy of your own home, how so is that and to what extent?

We can't speak on behalf of most women or any women, but wearing anything that produces VPL under a unitard is just sad. I've seen plenty of women wearing formal gowns, dresses, tight shorts or even snug-fitting skirts...and you can see the V-pattern showing under the fabric: it's like a kid playing dress-up who doesn't understand that looking good means...looking good.

Some time ago I bought a really nice Reebok jammer...it had a aqua color, shiny black and silver color pattern...REALLY nice, but the lack of padding left the giblets a bit too defined for my taste...so I took the advice read here and bought a dance belt. To avoid lines on the back I went with the thong style. Now, bear in mind the dance belt relies on two things to suppress the junk: a pad thick enough to cover stuff AND an elastic strong enough to pull it all down. The first time I put-on that dance belt it was like HELLO!!!...but in short time the feeling/sensation just went away and you forget about it.

My own wife was hesitant to wear thong underwear...but ya know what, they get over it. If a women is going to complain about wearing thong underwear then she'll also complain about how uncomfortable and impractical high heels are. In the end, it's all a modest sacrifice made to achieve an ends: looking great. Over time it becomes less and less an issue. In male terms, I really don't enjoy having to take shaving cream and razor and shave my face every couple days, but here again...it's the price paid to have a certain look.

Call me a freak for staring at women's VPL but i can't help it. I can say most women i see day to day i can tell what they put on under non tight fitting clothing. Most women is see wear boyshorts trying to fool as if they had no VPL only a Visual hip line. Some i can tell what lace undies they wear tangas or v-string. The worst i recently witnessed was what looked like big boxer undies under cheap cotton fitted tights. This women looked as if she had a diaper on with all the material stuffed on her bum.

I also don't like the bra straps showing on the shoulders of women who wear tank tops or other shoulder showing clothing. Most women don't even have the boobs to need to package them in a bra.

As for a thong and women find uncomfortable. Thongs really are meant to be worn by men. In reality your package is held in place in a fitted lycra nylon material stretches well and comfortably for any size man. While for a woman the thong may ride up and down itching her and if left unclean can cause yeast infections from all the rubbing up and down. Ass to vagina. Sometimes i don't understand women who laugh at a man wearing a thong which is very comfortable at least with me.
